The Strongest Prayer I've Ever Said - Dr. Carol Ministries (2023)

Not all sentences are the same. Intellectually we know that God answers every prayer, but it seems certain that some prayers "work" better than others. I learned through hard experience what the most powerful prayer can do and it changed everything.

The Bible assures us that God hears us when we ask His will (1 John 5:14). And we know that he wants our good. It is also possible to ask “for bad motives” (James 4:3) or for our prayers to be hindered (1 Peter 3:7). The disciples could see how important prayer was to Jesus and asked him to teach them to pray in the same way (Luke 11:1). Some prayers are really effective and make a big difference (James 5:16).

So if not all sentences are the same,What makes a prayer effective?

As a young professional, I went through a period of severe hardship that almost left me unable to work. Despite professional help, my physical and psychological problems persisted for a number of years. I looked good on the outside, but on the inside I was a mess. I cried for long hours or sometimes literally curled up on the floor.

Yes, I knew God had the answer, but I couldn't find it. I tried this and that, seeking and praying for relief. I wondered if I was someone destined to live broke. Although I had always attended church, getting to know Jesus personally during this time was beginning to make a difference, but my progress was still tiny.

Learn the most powerful prayer

In some of my darkest days, a Christian friend helped me understand what it meant to invoke the blood of Jesus. In the beginning it was difficult for me to even say the words "I ask for the blood of Jesus". That seemed strange, strange. But I was desperate.

Things changed quickly when I began to invoke the blood of Jesus over my own life on a daily basis. My physical and emotional symptoms improved dramatically. She could hardly believe the incredible freedom she was experiencing. Thank you my Lord! I felt like the cripple that Peter and John healed at the temple door as they walked, jumped, and praised God.

But that's only chapter one of the story. God had a lot to do for me to grow and I appreciated the process. After several months of joy and growth, I thought, “I'm incredibly grateful for the freedom that God has given me. That made asking for the blood of Jesus available! But now I'm better and I don't have to do that anymore."

How wrong was I!

Within a few weeks, my symptoms returned. Mental stress and dysfunction began to take over my life again. It terrified me to think that I would end up in the same mess I had just escaped from.

I will never forget that morning in the shower when the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. It wasn't an audible voice, but it was as clear as if it had been. His words were both a knife and a lightbulb to my heart; "You are not protected. You stopped asking for the blood of Jesus.”

And twenty years later, I'm still a champion of the blood of Jesus. Loud. Daily. That does not matter. It's part of my life with God every day. And my symptoms have never returned. Even with the painful circumstances surrounding my husband's death last year, I haven't fallen back into that pit.

And I know that you too can experience that kind of freedom and power.

Why ask for the blood of Jesus?

When Moses was about to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt, God commanded them to take the blood of a lamb and physically paint it on the door of their house. This blood signified their membership in God's company and protected them from the destroying angel who came to slay all the firstborn (Exodus 12:3-13). You should remember this day in Easter celebration forever. It also foreshadowed the suffering and death of Jesus, through which we would be set free.

Revelation makes it clear: "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, despising their lives unto death" (Revelation 12:11). There is no other way to defeat Satan and his kingdom!

The Israelites would not be protected if they did not put the blood of the Lamb on the door of their houses. And you and I cannot be protected if we do not apply the blood of Jesus, the true Paschal Lamb, in our lives. Supplicating the blood of Jesus prevents the enemy from gaining access to your life that he would otherwise have. Satan and his kingdom cannot resist when the blood of Jesus is applied.

Spiritual warfare is bloody, and it's time to take off the gloves.Without Jesus shedding His blood there would be no victory. And we cannot experience victory in our lives now without His blood.

This isn't just a one-time thing two thousand years ago or a time when you first meet Jesus. It's something of every day, of every moment. The enemy has not laid down their arms, and until they are finally destroyed, you and I must remain covered in the blood of Jesus. We can never claim victory without living in the victory he won through his blood.

How to ask for the blood of Jesus

How is the blood of Jesus applied? with your words

I encourage you to do this every day. Yes! In particular, put everything in your life aloud under His blood. Pray for his blood in every problem you have. You too, as I sometimes do, can prayerfully receive your own private communion at the same time, physically imbibing the symbols of Jesus' broken body and shedding blood as you accept His sacrifice and victory for yourself.

There is no magic in certain words. Don't make the mistake of thinking of this as a ritual of supernatural power in itself. But there is power in the blood of Jesus! And that power is available to you today.

Pray something like this LOUD:

I pray the blood of Jesus over my life today: my spirit, my soul, my body. I pray the blood of Jesus for my spouse: spirit, soul and body. And I ask the blood of Jesus for my children: [name individually]. I pray the blood of Jesus over anything in my life that may be troubled; my fears, my anxiety, my illness, my confusion, my brokenness, my sin, my anger, my concern for other people, my future, my work, my marriage, my money, my sex life, my food, my time, my entertainment , my church membership, my way of thinking, my dream. I put everything under the blood of Jesus and leave it at that.

I surround myself and my family with the blood of Jesus today. Let nothing affect me or my family that does not come first through the blood of Jesus, nothing from the enemy, from other people, or from the natural world. I release everything that cannot remain under the blood of Jesus: every habit, every material thing, every thought, every person. I choose to remain under the blood of Jesus and claim His protection, sustenance, and guidance today. Amen.

May you experience the freedom, victory and power that lies in the mightiest prayer of all.
