Guide for State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition (2023)

Introduction to Trumbull Valley

NOTE: There is a "bug" in the Trumbull Valley story mode where if there are too many settlements on the map, the story missions may not appear. This is directly because story missions have to create a new "settlement" when characters move or appear on the map (especially Mickey Wilkerson), and there is a maximum number of settlements that can be on a map at any one time. moment. It's easy to hit this limit when playing with best practices; so if you find that the story missions don't appear after a day or two, try clearing an enclave (either by recruiting an enclave member or by killing the enclave survivors); This should work.

There could also be the possibility that a settlement spawned on top of a location would need a new settlement to spawn to move the story forward (for example, Mickey Wilkerson needs to spawn in Spencer's Mill Bar but a settlement has already been moved there). Again, if you find that story missions no longer spawn and clearing out an enclave or two so far hasn't helped, check out the lists below and make sure that any buildings involved in the next mission in the quest line have been cleared of enclaves.

Welcome to the endgame (at least probably). We're saving Trumbull Valley until last, as the map functions as a hybrid campaign map and story mode, and said story takes place some time (probably months) after the events of Heartland. On that note, since you should play Heartland after getting used to the game's campaign (since it doubles as a Super-Nightmare mode), this map should be played last. Given that, there's no reason you shouldn't play Trumbull Valley as one of your main campaign plays, except for narrative reasons. In fact, trading Trumbull Valley for one of their campaign maps can save you many hours of gameplay if you don't like this game (which is, of course, impossible).

This campaign map will now work exactly the same as other campaign maps, except that there will be quests that will appear specifically for the Trumbull Valley map. These quests will come in order once you activate the quest line start condition. These initial search lines and triggers include the following:

  • The legacy of the saints-- Must be unlocked when starting the map. If you hear a radio call between Lily Ritter and Ray Santos on Day 1 or Day 2, you're starting this quest line.
  • CLEO meeting-- This questline is unlocked the first time you travel to the northeast corner of the map, through the tunnel. Surprisingly unmissable, as there's no real reason to scale this part of the map other than for nostalgia reasons (or if you know this quest line). Finishing the first quest in this line will subsequently unlock the Wilkerson Reckoning and Izzbee's Mystery quest lines.
  • Or Wilkerson calculus-- Technically starts at the same point that the Meeting CLEO questline begins, as The Wilkerson Reckoning and Izzbee's Mystery questlines are unlocked the first time you travel to the far northeast of the map, via the tunnel ( technically, doing the first CLEO quest unlocks this questline, but since you have to travel to the far northeastern part of the map to start with, we'll count that as the starting point for this one as well).
  • Izbee's Mystery-- Same as above, with the big difference that this questline and the Meeting CLEO questline start to intersect once started, which means you have to finish a quest in a row (Izzbee's Mystery) for it to start a mission on the other line (Meeting CLEO), while The Wilkerson Reckoning appears to operate in its own timeline.
  • Tresie's Mission-- It is unlocked the first time you approach Marshall, which is the town in the southwest of the map. Since you'll be heading there many times in other random quests, it's very hard to miss the beginning of this quest line unless you work hard for it.
  • Fairfield Stories/Marshall Stories-- Unlocked by approaching the city(s) indicated by the title. These missions are one-time missions that do not affect the overall story of the campaign.
  • Trumbull's Guardians-- Unlocked after completing The Wilkerson Reckoning questline (thus, after the Trumbull Valley achievement appears). These quests are part of some short "coda" quests that let you know what happens after completing the main quests.

Of those six, it looks like you only need to complete one of these questlines to unlock the Trumbull story achievement, but since several of them are intertwined, you'll need to complete four of the six to unlock the Valley of Trumbull quest achievement. trumbull. The odd questlines are: Tressie Huerta's quests, which are all standalone; the Trumbull Guardians quests, which begin after completing The Wilkerson Reckoning (and unlocking the achievement); and the Fairfield and Marshall Stories quests, which are standalone quests. With that, the Tressie and Fairfield/Marshall stories can be safely ignored (although I'd advise replaying them anyway, as they're self-interesting in their own right). All missions for Izzbee, CLEO, Ray Santos, and Mickey Wilkerson must be completed for Mickey Wilkerson's final mission to appear and for the Trumbull Valley questline achievement to unlock.

Trumbull Valley Tour

Start a game in Trumbull Valley via a new game (ie start a new game from the main menu, don't move an existing community from another map to this one). New characters or veterans will work (although it might be better with new characters, in case you run into the glitch mentioned above and need to reboot). Difficulty doesn't matter, though I would recommend at least standard difficulty, as green difficulty slows down radio mission calls (which is definitely what you don't want). Feel free to skip the tutorial. Tutorial or no tutorial, entering the Trumbull Valley map will unlock:

  • Lily, we're home.

You have claimed a base on the Trumbull Valley map.

Start your game early as you normally would: secure your new base (the terrible Checkpoint Delta) and start scavenging the local area for supplies. Be sure to pay attention to your radio: sometime during the first day, Lily Ritter is supposed to talk to Ray Santos about moving her community to the Valley. If you don't hear this conversation on the radio on day 2, you'll need to restart the game.

Speaking of which, at the end of day 1 or sometime on day 2, you'll need to take a road trip to the northeast of the map. This is the method by which the Meeting CLEO, Wilkerson Reckoning, and Izzbee's Mysteries quests will begin. You will receive a radio request to go to the hunting lodge where State of Decay 1 started, and upon arrival you will find Dr. Hoffman, Izzbee, and Mickey Wilkerson from Heartland. Doctor Hoffman will ask you to take Mickey Wilkerson to a warehouse on the other side of the map to find a CLEO Memory Core. Drive there, search the warehouse for the memory core, and give the part to Mickey to finish the quest (and now start three quest chains simultaneously).

Once this is done, in the next few days the Izzbee, CLEO and Mickey missions will begin to appear periodically. Complete them as soon as they arrive. During this time, what you've been waiting for is the start of the Ray Santos quests, specifically The Santos Legacy: All Good Things quest (NOTE: the quest will be broadcast on the radio by Lily Ritter, who wants you to look for Ray, as he was silent on the radio). If you don't get this quest in about an in-game week (aka Day 7), you may need to start over, as a reported bug may prevent Ray from spawning on your map. Fortunately, the bug appears to have been fixed recently, so this is unlikely to happen these days, but to be sure, look for this prompt and reboot if necessary.

From now on, as soon as you see Ray Santos' first quest appear, your path to conquest is open. All you have to do is complete the story missions as they appear, the latest being The Wilkerson Reckoning: A New Coalition (this is triggered after finishing the Ray Santos and Izzbee/CLEO quest lines). Some of these quests may come in random order, and some come after other quests are completed (for example, a CLEO Encounter quest will always be followed by an Izzbee Mystery quest, and vice versa). In it, the missions are presented below in a checklist format.

One final note before getting into the missions: feel free to leave Checkpoint Delta as soon as possible, as this starting base is the worst in the game. Pterodactyl Ptark is a good mid game pick, as is Tranquility Warehouse (my personal pick). When you have enough survivors in the mid game, make sure to move to the Farmland Complex in the middle of the map as your endgame base, as it is one of the best bases in State of Decay 2.

Required Missions

King Saints:

The Santos Legacy: All Good Things - Lily Ritter will ask you to find Ray Santos, who has lost his radio. She will travel to his last known locations and have to search some websites for a note. Once you've found the map, you'll travel to Ray's location, who will ask you to accompany him to a medical clinic. By doing so, mission complete.

The Santos Legacy: Going Home – Will be released sometime after The Santos Legacy: All Good Things. Ray will radio you and ask you to come help him. Go to the clinic where you last left him. Talk to him and Ray will want you to accompany him to the Church of the Ascension. Do this and eliminate all the zombies infesting the church. Once this is done, talk to Ray to complete the quest.

The Santos Legacy: Second Chances – Will be activated sometime after The Santos Legacy: Going Home and The Wilkerson Reckoning: Memories are completed. You'll hear a call between Alexis Carter and Ray Santos about a group of survivors having car trouble in Danforth (aka the town of State of Decay: Lifeline), and then Ray will ask you to help Alexis find some parts. . Go to the run-down shack where Alexis is hiding and talk to her about joining you. Now take Alexis to the junkyard northeast of Marshall. You will be asked to search the warehouse building first, so do so to leave empty-handed. You will now be asked to search the trash heaps outside. Lead Alexis through the piles of trash until she tells you that you've found the right path. Now, you will have to protect her for a few minutes while she retrieves the piece (this will start automatically, so be prepared). Be prepared for ghoul and savage attacks during this time. Once the timer runs out, take Alexis back to where you originally found her, talk to her, and her quest will be complete.

CLEO meeting:

CLEO Meeting: The Doctor is Calling - This mission is activated when you approach the northeast part of the map (you will have to drive there on your own, nothing will force you to go there). Once you get close, you'll get a radio request to go to the hunting lodge where you started State of Decay 1, and when you get there, you'll find Dr. Hoffman, Izzbee, and Mickey Wilkerson from Heartland. Doctor Hoffman will ask you to take Mickey Wilkerson to the warehouse on the other side of the map to find a CLEO Memory Core. He drives there, searches the warehouse for the memory core, and gives the piece to Mickey to finish the mission.

(Video) Der ULTIMATIVE Anfängerguide! | State of Decay 2

CLEO Reunion: Critical Download – Will go live sometime after the mystery of Izzbee: Jurassic Junction. Doctor Hoffman will call you and ask you to meet Izzbee at a fruit stand. Izzbee will ask you to take her to a CLEO drop off point near a lake. Upon arrival, she clears out the local zombies and Izzbee will ask you to protect her for a few minutes while he downloads the CLEO code. Do that, she talks to Izzbee and complete the mission.

CLEO Reunion: Signal Interference – Will kick in sometime after the Izzbee: A Cryptic Signal mystery. Doctor Hoffman will call you to complain that the Plague Hearts on the map are interfering with CLEO and will ask you to remove some Plague Hearts (specifically, two of them). I haven't tested this theory yet, but I think you should defeat both Plague Hearts in the same game session; you will have to defeat two more upon re-entry). Once completed, the mission will be completed automatically. NOTE: If you have cleared all Plague Hearts from the map, this quest will not appear and instead you will receive radio chats from Dr. Hartman thanking you for clearing all Plague Hearts from the map.

CLEO Reunion: The Haven Protocol – Will be activated sometime after Izzbee Mystery: Breaking the Code. Hoffman and Izzbee will spawn at your base and ask you to install CLEO in one of the slots in your large facility (you will need to have moved from Checkpoint Delta to a larger base for this quest to trigger, although this shouldn't be a problem). later in the year). game). Talk to Dr. Hoffman to start this quest. At this point, if all the slots in your large facility are full, you'll need to deconstruct one of your large facilities to continue. Once you have a large free space, talk to Izzbee to continue the quest. While Izzbee is building the CLEO Haven device, your base will be under heavy zombie siege for a few minutes. Defend your base (having a Watchtower or Sniper Tower helps tremendously here), and once the timer runs out, the Haven Device will activate and kill any remaining zombies in the base. Mission complete! As a bonus, if you keep the CLEO Haven gadget, at a cost of 50 pieces per day, no zombies or specials can get near your base without being automatically killed. Cool!

Izzbee's Mystery:

The Mystery of Izzbee: Jurassic Junction – Will be triggered sometime after meeting CLEO: The Doctor is Calling. Izzbee will ask to meet him at a gas station under construction. She will want you to accompany her to the old Jurassic Heartland base so she can loot some equipment. She take her there and eliminate the zombies from the base. Once this is done, Izzbee will ask you to guard her for a period of time while she loots a stack of gear on the north side of the base. Do that and you will complete this quest.

The Mystery of Izzbee: A Cryptic Sign – Will activate some time after CLEO Encounter: Critical Download. Izzbee will radio you and ask you to meet with Chavez (from Heartland) and work with him to locate a Red Talon Codebook. Head to Chavez's location, talk to him and he will direct you to the army checkpoint where your Red Talon unit was killed before Heartland. Eliminate the zombies at the checkpoint, search all the containers for the Codebook and give it to Chavez to finish the mission.

Izzbee's Mystery - Crack the Code - Will activate some time after meeting CLEO - Signal Jamming. You will receive a call from Izzbee to meet her at Spencer's Mill. When she arrives, both Izzbee and Chavez will be at the top of the Swine & Bovine restaurant (Pro tip: the stairs to the roof are inside the back room to the right, a your left as you enter. Easy to miss.) Talk to them on the roof and Izzbee will summon some CLEO drops, with Chavez and Izzbee joining you as followers afterwards. Now you just need to approach each of the three CLEO drops, open them (no need to loot) and complete the quest. NOTE: Each of the three falls will be guarded by a group of zombies and depending on your level of play this could include wildlings, bloated and a giant so be prepared for a fight. Personally, I was playing this in Dread mode and wasn't prepared for the giant in my last CLEO takedown, and Izzbee was knocked down once during the fight afterward and nearly died, so be careful. NOTE 2: One of the drops is on the roof of a gas station. The staircase is located outside along the back.

Mickey Wilkerson:

The Wilkerson Reckoning: Homestead – Will be triggered sometime after meeting CLEO: The Doctor is Calling. Meet with Mickey and he will ask you to take him to his old property to investigate what happened there and how it was destroyed. Take him there and clear all the zombies from the burned property. You will now have to search a few places both inside and outside the house around the army vehicles as requested by Mickey (NOTE: save the notes you find as you will need to give them to Mickey at the end of the mission). Eventually, you will be required to bring all the clues you found to Mickey and by talking to him you will complete this quest.

The Wilkerson Reckoning: Buried Treasures – Will trigger sometime after The Wilkerson Reckoning: Homestead. Mickey Wilkerson will call you on the radio and tell you about two secret hideouts that he has and encourage you to loot them. Drive to the first camp and take it out (it seems to be off the beaten track, but you can drive a vehicle to it just by driving through the woods). Once the first one is looted, head to the second camp and loot as well. As part of the loot here will be a family photo.MAKE SURE YOU TAKE AND SAVE THIS PHOTOGRAPHas needed to trigger Mickey Wilkerson's next mission. After looting the second location, the quest will be complete. NOTE: You can safely keep the photograph in your base inventory while you wait for the next Wilkerson Reckoning quest to appear.

The Wilkerson Reckoning: Memories – Will trigger sometime after The Wilkerson Reckoning: Buried Treasures, provided you have the family photo from the previous quest in your personal or base inventory. Mickey will call you and ask you to meet Mickey Wilkerson at a bar in Spencer's Mill. Take the base inventory photo of him and go there. Talk to Mickey and give him the picture, and this will start a conversation where Mickey will get some medicine for Lily Ritter. Take Mickey to the indicated Tartan Mart and the medicine will be in a shed behind the market. Take the medicine and give it to Mickey. He will call Lily, who will send an agent to Fairfield to pick them up. Take Mickey to Fairfield, meet and talk to the agent (she just passed the "Oasis" sign) and complete the mission.

Wilkerson's Reckoning: A New Coalition: The Final Mission! This quest will trigger some time after The Santos Legacy: Second Chances and Meeting CLEO: The Haven Protocol are completed. You will first receive a call from Lily Ritter, asking if Mickey Wilkerson can be trusted (your community of hers will automatically respond). This will be followed almost immediately by a call from Ray Santos, who is concerned that Alexis Carter is late giving birth. After a flurry of radio conversations between you, Mickey, Ray and Lily, you will be directed to meet Mickey at the Church of the Ascension. He goes there and talks to Ray, and he'll want you and Mickey to go to Fairfield to find Alexis. Approaching Fairfield, Alexis will appear on her radio and ask her to rescue her from a cell tower near an electrical substation. Go there, kill all the zombies in the area and Alexis will come down from the tower. Listen to the dialogue and the mission completed. The achievement should appear immediately after.

optional missions

It is not necessary to complete any of the following quests to conquer the history of Trumbull Valley, but they are presented here for informational and comprehensive purposes.

Tressie Huerta:

Tressie's Quest: A Call for Help – Triggered by approaching Marshall for the first time. You will receive an SOS call from Tressie Huerta, so he go to the Marshall Fire Station and save her by killing all the zombies nearby. He will then ask you to help him loot the town hall, so he agrees and moves on. Kill all the zombies in the town hall (you can't go inside, so kill them in front of the building). When you're done, she talks to Tressie and she'll offer to show you why the military was so interested in Marshall. She agrees again and goes to the Alamo restaurant, where Tressie will tell her about Plague Walls. When the conversation is over, return Tressie to the house near her to end the quest.

Tressie's Quest: Barn Storming – Will activate sometime after Tressie's Quest: A Call for Help. Tressie will call you and ask for your help to retrieve some equipment. Head to the fruit stand Tressie is waiting for downstairs, and she'll want you to lead her down the dirt road to a barn so she can loot. Accept and do it. Clear the barn of zombies, then search the bins in the barn until you find the Huerta family photo album. Take it, give it to Tressie and take her back to her house in Marshall to finish the quest.

Tressie's Quest: Data Gathering – Will activate some time after Tressie's Quest: Tressie's Quest: Barn Raid. Tressie will call and ask for another favor. Head over to her house in Marshall and she will ask you to help her get a sample from one of the dormant pest walls. Agree, then head to the crashed plane (where she first saw and fought a Plague Wall in Heartland). Clear the area of zombies and Tressie will ask you to protect her for a few minutes while she collects a sample of the Plague Wall. BE CAREFUL HERE: Starting this phase of the mission will summon a large and aggressive horde of zombies, so it's best to be prepared by clearing some minefields or activating a sniper radio command before starting. Once the time is up, take Tressie back to her house in Marshall and the search will end.

Tressie's Quest: Throwing Down the Gauntlet – Will activate some time after Tressie's Quest: Tressie's Quest: Data Gathering. Tressie will want to go on another excursion, so head to the Marshall Fire Station and talk to Tressie. You'll want to try the "Gauntlet" Scourge Wall, (also known as the area of the last four Scourge Walls of Heartland). Accept and cross the street. Kill all the zombies at the entrance to the Scourge Wall and wait a few seconds for Tressie to take a sample. Go to the next Plague Wall location, clear the area and once again wait for Tressie to get a sample. NOTE: The cargo container in this area is where you get the note for the Marshall Stories: Seeking Closure quest; it's worth picking up as you get a solid recruit at the end of this mission. Anyway, back to Tressie: you'll move on to the third Plague Wall location, clear the area of zombies, and now Tressie will ask you for more time to collect a sample. PREPARE FOR A FIGHT HERE, as this is probably the hardest section of all the new Trumbull Valley quests. Talk to Tressie to activate the timed protection event and you will have to spend a few minutes defending Tressie while he collects a sample. Expect a lot of zombies to attack you here, along with several specials and one or two giants (depending on difficulty). As with the plane, I would recommend setting up a minefield or two, and definitely calling in some backup snipers. Once complete, take out the remaining zombies and talk to Tressie. Escort Tressie out of the "gauntlet" to complete the mission.

Tressie's Quest: Special Delivery – Will activate sometime after Tressie's Quest: Launching the Gauntlet. The coda to the Tressie quest line, Tressie will show up at your base wanting to talk to you. Talk to her and she will give you a facility mod where you can spend pest samples to greatly increase crop yields (works on gardens, farms, and hydroponics). After talking to Tressie, mission complete.

Other Missions:

(Video) TOP TEN BEST TRAITS | State of Decay 2 (Juggernaut Edition) | Apoca-Tips

(NOTE: The contact names for the Fairfield and Marshall Stories missions are randomly generated. Therefore, they will be referred to below as "a survivor" or "the survivor").

Fairfield Stories: Family Memento -- Triggered randomly. You will receive a call from a survivor in Fairfield asking for your help. She will meet her and she will ask you to find a family memento located where her husband and son were last seen. She drives to the indicated location and loots the area until you find the Stuffed Hippo. Return the stuffed hippo to the survivor to complete the quest.

Marshall Stories: A Lost Friend -- Triggered randomly. You will receive a call from a survivor in Marshall asking for a favor to find a lost friend. Head over and talk to her, and she'll send you to the Savini House (I see what you did there!) in North Marshall to rescue her friend. In the future, he will be attacked by zombies. Rescue him and clear the area of zombies. You will be asked to search the house, so do so until you find a note stating what happened to the previous residents of Savini House. Once you're done, talk to your rescued friend and return with him to the original enclave house. Talk to the original quest giver to complete the quest.

Marshall Stories: New in Town -- Triggered randomly. Another enclave will call for your help. When you arrive, they will ask you to clean out the warehouse in West Marshall so they can set up their new home. The leader of the enclave will now join you on this mission, so go with him to the warehouse and clean it up together. Once you're clear of zombies, talk to the enclave leader and complete the quest.

Marshall Stories: Seeking Closure – Triggered by finding a set of dog tags in the center of Marshall. I found them right in the area where the second "Gauntlet" plague wall was fought in Heartland (aka just northwest of the Marshall Fire Station), inside a shipping container with radio equipment. If you used the "cheese method" in Heartland to clear Gauntlet's plague walls, it's the container you stand on to attack the second plague wall. Anyway, once you get the dog tags, a survivor will join your radio chat, indicating that he might know who the dog tags belong to. Head to the indicated location and you will find the survivor. She'll want you to go back to where you found the dog tags to see if there's any more evidence of your missing squadmates. Head back to the original location (this time you'll have a quest marker to help you find it) and wait while her follower does some research. Once this is done, they will ask you to transport them to one last place. Do that and when you arrive you will see the place overrun by zombies. Kill all the zombies in the area, talk to the survivor and she will ask you to join her community. Accept or decline as you see fit and the search is complete.

Trumbull Guardians: Trading with Ray Santos – Will activate immediately after completing The Wilkerson Reckoning: A New Coalition. Essentially, this mission works exactly the same as the trade missions in the main campaign, except that the location will always be the Church of the Ascension (which is now home to Mickey and Ray). Every time this quest appears, you can get new dialogue from Ray and Mickey, so it's worth visiting once in a while just for the story.

CLEO Reunion: Farewell Between Friends – Will be triggered sometime after The Wilkerson Reckoning: A New Coalition. A coda on Dr. Hoffman and Izzbee, as these two characters will appear at your base to talk to CLEO one last time before leaving the valley. Just talk to Dr. Hoffman and Izzbee (they are most likely in separate areas from your base) and complete the mission.

One final note: If you still need to complete the Landmark Outpost missions, the Landmark in Trumbull Valley is Echo Labs, located in the northwestern part of the map, past the checkpoint where Chavez finds the Red Talon Codebook. You can set up an Outpost here for 1000 influence to advance the Landmark Outpost achievements if needed.
